Engine 102 is a front-line fire suppression engine designed to serve as the first-due engine for all fire incidents within the department’s response area. The apparatus is equipped with a 2,000 GPM water pump and a 1,000-gallon water tank, providing significant initial fire flow and sustained suppression capability.
Engine 102 carries an extensive hose complement to support both attack and water supply operations, including 1,000 feet of 5-inch supply line, 3-inch supply line, a pre-connected 2½-inch attack line, two 200-foot 1¾-inch crosslays, a front bumper handline, and a master stream device. This configuration allows crews to rapidly adapt to a wide range of structural and fireground scenarios.
The apparatus is equipped with essential firefighting and operational equipment, including a high-rise pack, ventilation fan, fire extinguishers, water can, booster line, and a full cache of hand tools and firefighting tools. Additional equipment includes spare SCBA bottles, a portable generator, scene lighting, and saws to support extended and complex incidents.
Engine 102 also carries technical and safety equipment such as a battery-operated combination extrication tool, thermal imaging camera, four-gas meter for gas detection, and an SCBA pack tracking system, enhancing firefighter safety and situational awareness. The unit is further equipped with an EMS jump bag, allowing crews to provide immediate medical care while fire suppression operations are underway.
Engine 102 is configured to carry six firefighters, in addition to an operator and an officer, ensuring a full and capable crew for aggressive and effective first-due operations.
