Brush 1
Brush 1
Brush 1 is a 1996 Chevrolet pickup with a work body, designed to support wildland fire suppression, brush fire response, and off-road operations in areas inaccessible to larger apparatus. Its compact size and maneuverability allow for rapid response to grass, brush, and woodland fires throughout the district.
The unit is equipped with a skid-mounted firefighting system featuring a 250-gallon water tank and on-board foam capabilities, providing effective initial attack and extended suppression capability during wildland incidents. Brush 1 also carries a booster reel for quick deployment, along with supplemental forestry hose to support progressive hose lays and mop-up operations.
Additional equipment includes wildland firefighting tools such as rakes, chainsaws, and assorted hand tools, allowing crews to establish fire breaks, perform overhaul, and support extended operations. This equipment cache ensures the unit can operate independently or in support of larger fire suppression efforts.
Brush 1 enhances the department’s all-hazards response by providing a dedicated resource for wildland, brush, and off-road fire incidents, while supporting mutual aid operations in rural and wooded environments.
