PCVFC Responds to Abandoned House Fire

Residential Structure Fire (Abandoned)
400 Block of Oxford St.
This morning, the Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Co. and mutual-aid companies responded to an early morning structure fire on Oxford St. Pocomoke EMS arrived to find a 2-story dwelling with fire showing from the second floor and through the roof. First arriving fire crews quickly protected the neighboring structure and were able to suppress the bulk of the fire. Crews were on-scene for just shy of 2 1/2 hours for extensive overhaul extinguishing stubborn hotspots. Fire Chief Denston had command. The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
