Worcester Co., MD - At 12:52 p.m. on May 13, 2026, the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company, along with mutual aid companies, were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 2000 block of McMichael Avenue.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a single-story residence with smoke and flames showing from three sides of the structure. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and conducted overhaul operations to extinguish any remaining embers.

The fire is believed to have originated in the area of a dryer before spreading to surrounding contents and portions of the residence.
